Lincoln-based group, Sixteen Eighty Fiv e, take Pepys’ description of the sound of recorders, “of all sounds in the world, most pleasing”, as the inspiration for their latest programme of 17th and 18th century music showcasing a whole range of musical moods from exciting virtuoso fireworks to peaceful inner calm.
